Here’s an Official Postcrossing card from Germany! From my understanding, this reads “Greetings from Bavaria” (that’s right, I Google translate like a pro!) Bavaria is a large state located in the southeastern part of the country, bordering Austria and the Czech Republic. Bavaria is mostly known for its fairytale-like castles, the Alps, its beer (Oktoberfest is held in Munich, Bavaria’s capital), and having many cows. One such castle of Bavaria that I think is STUNNING is Neuschwanstein Castle, the home of King Ludwig II in the late 1800s. Seriously, this gives the Disneyworld castles a run for their money! Fun fact: the king, who was supposedly shy, had this built so he could withdraw from the public. Now THAT is 100% what I’d do as king – just play video games and do Postcrossing in the castle all day XD But back to the card – I have to say that while I don’t drink beer, I found this card super appetizing… and I don’t know, something about its aesthetic just looks really clean and attractive! About the beer though – as I mentioned, Munich is where Oktoberfest is held (another fun fact: Oktoberfest starts in September and ends in early October). As many may know, this is where many one-liter steins of beer are drunk, leading to about 6 million liters total in consumed beer. Holy cow – my vision is blurring at the thought of that! I’ll snack on the pretzels and bratwurst for now. Thank you so much for the delicious and awesome postcard, Susanne!
