This is an Official Postcrossing card from Taiwan! This is a postcard showing the Arc de Triomphe, or the Triumphal Arch of the Star, located in France’s capital – Paris! This is an arch that was constructed at the beginning of the 1800s as commissioned by Napoleon I to honor the fallen soldiers of the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars. It’s built in the neoclassical style – you can check out what characterizes neoclassical architecture in the following link: https://apostcardforyou.com/2020/04/keepin-it-neoclassy/. There is also a Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at this site, which was transferred from the Pantheon (in Italy) to here. The Tomb was an addition as of the early 1900s, and it honors an unknown fallen soldier from World War I. The US has something very similar, and the honor and care given to the tomb is impeccable. I’d also like to point out on this card all the sweet wishes written on it! Wondering if this is like part of a vintage postcard series or something like that, where historical landmarks and kind wishes are coupled. I’m gonna need to hold on to these wishes going into the busiest time period of the year at work! I’d also like to extend these wishes to all of you! I hope your days are fruitful and colorful and filled with joy! Thank you lots for sending this marvelous postcard to me!
